Same-day delivery works when the merchant has the stock, the vehicle and the access information before the cut-off. Miss any one of the three and it becomes a next-day delivery.
Beat the cut-off
Order early. A same-day request placed mid-morning has a realistic route; the same request at 3pm competes with an already-loaded fleet. Our cut-off is generally late morning for same-day, and any working day for next-day.
Give full access details up front
Tell your merchant: the vehicle size the street can take, whether there's a loading restriction, where the drop point is, who is on site to receive, and whether offload assistance is needed. Failed deliveries are almost always caused by missing information, not missing stock.
Confirm stock, not availability
"We can get it" is not the same as "it's on the yard". Ask for stock status per line and split the order if necessary — take today what's in stock, book the rest for next day rather than holding the whole load.
Keep a standing reorder list
If you buy the same twenty lines repeatedly, keep them on your account history so a reorder is a two-minute phone call. Trade account holders get priority on the delivery schedule.
